Leonard Fournette Working Hard To Get In Shape
2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette's weight has been a big topic of discussion this offseason. Fournette weighed around 240 pounds during organized team activities, but said getting down to 230 or 228 pounds is within his range. For what it's worth, head coach Todd Bowles said Fournette "looked fine" and was "no worse for wear" during OTAs. Reports suggested that the Bucs coaching staff was unhappy with Fournette's weight gain, but he has been training hard since then, and his trainer Jordan Bush thinks the weight issue is overblown. Bush said Fournette left training sessions in Texas last week in the "low 240s" and should lose even more weight during training camp this summer. The 27-year-old will once again be Tampa's lead back, but conditioning concerns and rookie Rachaad White lurking has caused Fournette to slip to low-end RB1 territory.
