Leury Garcia Draws Start Over Andrew Vaughn On Sunday
4 years agoChicago White Sox first baseman/designated hitter Andrew Vaughn will get the day off on Sunday versus the Texas Rangers. Vaughn has finally been getting everyday at-bats and has started seven of the last eight games for the Pale Hose. The increased playing time has helped the White Sox top hitting prospect go 5-for-13 with a healthy .847 OPS over the past seven games. The hits are nice, but the power hasn't been there yet. Vaughn is just getting his feet wet and profiles as a top power hitter with very good plate discipline and contact skills. Vaughn should be owned in all formats, due to his high ceiling and his increased playing time with good results may give managers their last hope in prying him away from a disgruntled manager. Utility man Leury Garcia will replace Vaughn on Sunday and bat eighth. Garcia is hitting a weak .143 in 43 at-bats this season and can be avoided on Sunday.
