Le'Veon Bell Looking For Full Workload
5 years agoNew York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell had a simple message for head coach Adam Gase ahead of the team's season opener vs Buffalo. "Don't hold back," was the quote from the star running back who will play his first game in nearly 20 months after sitting out last season due to a contract dispute. Bell wants a full workload, but it would be surprising if he got the workload he did as a Steeler. Bell handled 406 touches in 2017 and averaged a whopping 27 touches per game over a five-year stint with Pittsburgh. For context, the starting running back under Gase in Miami only averaged 233.5 touches per game with Jay Ajayi's 287 being the most any back handled. Still, Gase admitted he's never had a back close to Bell's talent and fantasy owners should expect Bell to at least top 300 touches.
