Le'Veon Bell Turned Down $70 Million Contract
6 years agoAccording to a report from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers offered running back Le'Veon Bell a five-year, $70 million contract ahead of the July 16 deadline for the two sides to work out an extension. Rapoport went on to report that $30 million of that contract would come over the next two years. That extremely large sum of money, which would have made Bell the highest-paid running back in the league, was not enough to convince the All-Pro to sign the contract extension. Bell will instead earn $14.5 million under the franchise tag in 2018, which could be his final season in Pittsburgh.
