4 years agoMiami Marlins rookie first baseman Lewin Diaz hit his first major league home run in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Atlanta Braves. Diaz came in as a pinch hitter in the fifth inning and turned on a hanging breaking ball, driving it easily into the right center field seats. Diaz has shown impressive power and a solid hit tool in the minors, but he's yet to put it together on a big league field, although he's had very limited opportunities. He's up right now mostly due to injuries and has been on the bench since Jesus Aguilar starts every day at first base. Diaz has the potential to have a bright future ahead, but he's not a fantasy relevant contributor just yet.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
