3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie first baseman Lewin Diaz was just called up on Tuesday, got the start at first base, and hit a home run. He ended up going 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. With the Marlins getting to use a DH in Baltimore, Diaz played first base while usual Marlins first baseman Jesus Aguilar hit in the designated hitter spot. Diaz should get plenty of playing time once the Marlins jettison some of their starters at the trade deadline. He may be worth a look in deeper mixed leagues. Despite hitting only .182 so far, he still has a solid .773 OPS.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
