6 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Lewis Brinson is batting in the leadoff spot against the Colorado Rockies on Opening Day. The centerpiece of the Christian Yelich deal had an encouraging spring that saw him hit .278 with five home runs and eight RBI through 54 at-bats. He will hope to carry over that success to the regular season as the 24-year-old endured a dismal 2018 campaign. He had a .199 average to go along with 11 HRs, 42 RBI, and two stolen bases in his first full MLB season. Brinson was a highly regarded prospect coming out of the minors, so maybe this is the year he puts it together. Unfortunately, the Marlins have one of the worst lineups in the majors so counting stats will be slightly limited. Utilize a wait-and-see approach before scooping up Brinson.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
