4 years agoAfter having bumped back the start of right-hander Homer Bailey before ultimately placing him on the injured list, left-hander Lewis Thorpe now enters the equation to start Monday’s outing against Pittsburgh. Thorpe made two starts last season to mixed results, but has worked two scoreless appearances (4 ⅔ innings) thus far in 2020. Entering play Sunday, the Pirates had the lowest team batting average (.178) and on-base percentage (.242) of any club in the Majors. The Twins did not announce how stretched out Thorpe would be for the start, but the team did work a bullpen game Sunday, which would indicate that they’re hoping for some semblance of length from the southpaw, making him an appealing contrarian DFS play Monday during a slate chock full of high-priced arms.--Jesse Borek
