4 years agoDetroit Lions cornerback Desmond Trufant (hamstring) is expected back on the field for Sunday’s contest against New Orleans. Having been without Trufant for the past two weeks due to a hamstring ailment, Detroit’s defense should simultaneously get a boost from his return, while also not having to worry about covering All-Pro receiver Michael Thomas (ankle). Trufant was brought aboard this off-season from Atlanta, having become extremely familiar with quarterback Drew Brees and many of his pass-catching options. Despite that, the Lions’ defense holds little fantasy intrigue this week with Alvin Kamara running wild out of the backfield. A strong performance Sunday would give the team appeal for when they return in Week 6 against Jacksonville.--Jesse Borek
