Lions To Sign DJ Chark Jr.
3 years agoThe Detroit Lions have reportedly come to terms with former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. on a one-year deal for a fully guaranteed $10 million. The deal also includes incentives that could push his earnings to $12 million. Chark gives the Lions a big-bodied outside receiver they've been lacking. He was one of the most athletic pass-catchers in the 2018 draft. Chark's 2021 season ended early when he suffered a fractured ankle in Week 4. The 25-year-old finished with seven receptions for 154 yards and two touchdowns, but he had 22 yards per catch and was a Pro Bowler in 2019 when he had 1,008 receiving yards and eight TDs on 73 catches. Chark should be ready for training camp and will serve as quarterback Jared Goff's top downfield threat, although Goff isn't exactly known for his deep ball.
