3 years agoThe Detroit Lions informed defensive end Trey Flowers that they will release him on the first day of the 2022 league year next week. Flowers has been a good player for the Lions, but he's been hit hard by injuries in the last two years and has only played in 14 games in 2020 and 2021. The 28-year-old finished last season with 24 tackles (15 solo), three QB hits, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 1.5 sacks in seven starts. The former fourth-round pick of the New England Patriots in 2015 out of Arkansas can still be an effective pass-rusher for another team if he can stay healthy.
