6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Curtis McElhinney allowed three goals on just 22 shots in Saturday's 3-1 setback at home against the Colorado Avalanche. The Hurricanes outshot the Avalanche 43-22, but still came out on the short end of the stick as Philipp Grubauer of the Avs was standing on his head. McElhinney started the season on a high note, but he suffered his first loss of the season in four outings. He is now 3-1-0 with a 2.76 goals-against average and .892 save percentage. McElhinney remains more of a No. 3 fantasy netminder in most pools of 12 or more teams. The Canes will try to rebound Monday in Detroit.--Daniel Dobish
