Ljay Newsome Faces Likely 70-75-Pitch Limit Wednesday
4 years agoSeattle Mariners right-handed pitcher Ljay Newsome has thrown just 1 ⅓ frames since Aug. 27. With that in mind, manager Scott Servais is eyeing around 70-75 pitches or 4-5 innings for Newsome during his start against the Giants on Wednesday. That cap likely zaps any DFS or season-long intrigue that fantasy managers may have had in the rookie who has allowed just three runs over his first 8 ⅓ career innings. It doesn’t appear as if Newsome will have much time to get stretched out over the final week-plus of the year, making him an avoidable fantasy commodity.
