4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert threw four innings and 71 pitches in his first major league appearance against Cleveland before exiting. He allowed four runs on five hits and no walks while striking out five. Gilbert was at his best in a quick first inning, in which he threw eight fastballs, all for strikes, in setting down all three batters he faced. He got into some trouble after that, allowing home runs to Franmil Reyes and Jose Ramirez in the second and third innings. Overall, it was a decent first start for Gilbert, who will look to build on this outing in his next appearance, which is expected to be against the Detroit Tigers. Gilbert should be added wherever possible, in all fantasy formats.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
