4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert had a rough outing Wednesday, throwing 2 2/3 innings and allowing three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two. He now has a 9.45 ERA over his first two major league appearances in 6 2/3 innings. Gilbert had trouble putting batters away in this one, allowing ten two-strike foul balls. That elevated his pitch count to the point where manager Scott Servais had no choice but to pull Gilbert after a 35-pitch third inning. Gilbert has tons of potential, but these growing pains are to be expected. He belongs on fantasy benches until he gets some successful outings under his belt.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
