Logan Gilbert Flashes Upside Sunday
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert had an impressive outing Sunday against the Angels. In his first start of spring training, Gilbert pitched two innings, allowing one run on two hits while striking out four. Gilbert fanned David Fletcher and Mike Trout in the first inning, and simply overpowered Dexter Fowler before finishing off Taylor Ward to end the second. Though not expected to debut in the regular season until the summer at the earliest, Gilbert showed his tantalizing upside for fantasy managers and Mariners fans alike. He may force his way into the picture sooner than planned, and is worth a stash in dynasty and keeper formats.
