Lou Trivino Earns Win In Relief At Minnesota
3 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Lou Trivino pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the win Sunday at the Twins. Trivino was summoned in the eighth inning after Jake Diekman served up a go-ahead homer. Trivino escaped the inning then pitched a clean ninth to preserve the lead and earn the win. Trivino has to be considered the best reliever in Oakland's 'pen right now as Diekman has served up go-ahead homers in back-to-back appearances. The right-hander has six saves on the season to go with a 3.27 ERA while averaging a strikeout-per-inning. He walks a few too many batters, so he's not an elite closing option for fantasy, but Trivino should be rostered in all leagues that value saves.
