Lou Trivino Picks Up Third Save In Tampa
4 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Lou Trivino pitched a scoreless ninth inning with a strikeout to pick up his third save of the season Monday at the Rays. Called on to protect a one-run lead, Trivino walked the tying run on base but managed to escape unscathed and get the A's back in the win column after their win streak was snapped on Sunday. Trivino has been good this season with only two runs allowed through 14 innings. He's got a strong 16:6 K:BB and has stranded a whopping 98 percent of runners on base this season. Jake Diekman picked up a save last week with Trivino unavailable but Diekman pitched the eighth inning in this game as Trivino is the closer of choice for manager Bob Melvin. He should be rostered in all leagues.
