Lou Trivino Slams Door On Mariners For 16th Save
3 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Lou Trivino pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday to pick up his 16th save of the season. Trivino allowed a leadoff single, but picked up a strikeout and two ground outs to preserve a 4-1 win for the visitors. The right-hander has been excellent this season, converting 16 saves in 18 chances with a crisp 1.91 ERA. Since May 8, Trivino has allowed just two runs in 29 2/3 innings as he's established himself as a must-roster reliever in fantasy. Lefty setup man Jake Diekman may steal the occasional save if the opposition has left-handed batters due up, but Trivino has seen the majority of the saves in Oakland and is the clear-cut fantasy option in this 'pen.
