Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Exits Saturday Early With Foot Ailment
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (foot) exited Saturday’s game versus Baltimore early due to a left foot contusion. Prior to his exit, Gurriel struck out twice, dropping his average on the season to .294. Randal Grichuk entered the game in his place, with Jonathan Davis shifting over to left due to the precautionary move. With the playoffs soon approaching for Toronto, it sounds as if the team did not want to take any chances, which also doesn’t bode well for Gurriel returning to the lineup for Sunday’s regular-season finale. Check back for any further updates, but Gurriel figures to be a vital part of the team’s postseason order.
