Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Hits Third Homer
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit his third long ball of the season during the team's extra-inning loss to the Rays on Monday. He took Ryan Yarbrough deep to left field for a solo shot in the second inning and also added a pair of singles, finishing the day going 3-for-5. Gurriel got off to a sluggish start hitting just .204 through 29 games, but he's batted .410 over his last nine contests to bring his BA up to .247 on the year. He's not providing much for counting stats with 13 runs and 13 RBI, but this current hot streak is providing some optimism that his bat can return to fantasy relevance.
