4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 4-for-6 during the team’s 10-8 win over the Red Sox on Saturday, upping his batting average to .290 on the year. The 26-year-old got off to a sluggish start to the season, but is 11-for-25 (.440) so far in September after finishing August on a high note. None of his hits went for extra-bases in this one, however, but he did drive in a run while crossing the plate twice himself in the high-scoring affair. Gurriel is undoubtedly hitting his stride, and should continue to produce a solid batting average with decent counting stats the rest of the way.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
