Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Retreats To The Bench
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is not in the starting lineup on Saturday against the New York Yankees. Gurriel has been in a bit of a mini slump of late, but he's still hitting a healthy .302/.354/.411 with five home runs, 49 RBI, 49 runs scored and three stolen bases on the season in 433 plate appearances over 107 games played for Toronto. It looks to be just a normal day of rest for the 28-year-old Cuban slugger. Raimel Tapia is taking over in left field and will hit leadoff on Saturday against Yankees right-hander Gerrit Cole. The leadoff spot will make Tapia more appealing in DFS, but he has very little pop and has gone 5-for-24 (.208) with no homers, one RBI and no runs scored in nine games in the last two weeks.
