4 years agoChicago White Sox right-handed pitcher Lucas Giolito has become well-known for his mercurial fantasy production over the past two seasons. Following his splendid 13-strikeout performance Thursday, Giolito has now thrown a quality start in four of his first six outings, averaging more than nine K’s per outing; but when he hasn’t been on, he has been shellacked, which has led to a 3.89 ERA to begin the year. From a season-long perspective, this is less of a concern, but through a DFS lens, particular matchups will be imperative for Giolito moving forward. With two off-days next week, it’s unclear exactly how the righty will line up, but he should face a hapless Pittsburgh offense once next week, with a showdown against the Twins looming after that. Owners may be best served to exploit his matchup with the Pirates, while staying away against the explosive Minnesota bats.--Jesse Borek
