Lucas Giolito Hurt By Home Run Ball In Fourth Loss
4 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito suffered his fourth loss of the season in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader versus the Kansas City Royals. Giolito went six innings and allowed five hits, five runs, three walks and struck out seven on the afternoon. Giolito was hurt by the wind blowing out at a heavy rate and his five runs came off of a two-run home run by outfielder Michael A. Taylor and a three-run home run by catcher Salvador Perez. Giolito has been in a bit of a funk of late, but is one of the most talented starting pitchers when he is going right. Giolito will bring a 4.97 ERA into Wednesday's matchup versus the Washington Nationals.
