Lucas Sims Picks Up Save Monday
4 years agoCincinnati Reds reliever Lucas Sims got the final out of a 3-0 win over the San Francisco Giants to earn his first save of the season on Monday. Sims struck out the lone batter he faced while lowering his ERA to 4.91 on the young season. The veteran right-hander has mostly been working in a setup role behind regular closer Amir Garrett, but it was Sims who was called upon to get the final out of the game, striking out Evan Longoria. Look for Garrett to continue to see most of the save chances but Sims should still have some fantasy value thanks to high strikeout rates. He is also interesting in saves+holds league formats.
