Lucas Sims Picks Up Save No. 2
4 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Lucas Sims got the final out of a 2-1 win over the Washington Nationals to earn the save on Tuesday. Sims got Washington infielder Starlin Castro to ground out to end the game. Left-hander Amir Garrett opened the inning and got the first two outs, but he also allowed Washington's only run of the game in the form of a solo homer to Josh Bell. Garrett was in the game to face two left-handed batters with Ryan Zimmerman mixed in-between as a pinch-hitter. Sims now has a 3-1 record, 6.35 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, two saves, and 26 strikeouts in 17 innings of work.
