3 years agoCincinnati Reds pitcher Lucas Sims was placed on the 10-day injured list with a sprained right elbow. He struggled in his previous outing and the elbow issue could be the reason why. The 27-year-old is 7-for-9 in save opportunities along with a 5.02 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and a 44:15 K: BB across 28 2/3 innings. There's no timetable for Sims and he will be out at least the next 10 days. With Sims on the injured list, the Reds will turn to either Amir Garrett or Tejay Antone to close. Antone is the Reds' top reliever but is used in a multi-inning role. Garrett struggled with closing duties earlier in the season and could get another crack at ninth-inning duties.
