3 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher prospect Luis Campusano continued his impressive season for Triple-A El Paso on Thursday by going 2-for-5 with two runs and a pair of RBI. One of the best catcher prospects in the game, Campusano is hitting a sizzling .368 with two home runs and seven RBI. The 23-year-old has had a cup of coffee at the big-league level over the past few seasons, including 2022, but he has struggled in limited action at the dish with a .102 batting average and one home run in 49 career at-bats. With catchers Austin Nola and Jorge Alfaro entrenched at the big-league level, it's possible that Campusano could become trade bait for the competitive Padres this year.
