4 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Luis Campusano is starting behind the dish and batting seventh Saturday against the Oakland Athletics. Making his major league debut as designated hitter on Friday, the Friars No. 4 prospect went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, walk and two runs scored. Campusano was receiving glowing reviews at the alternate site so even with the additions of backstops Austin Nola and Jason Castro, the Padres are excited for his bat. The 21-year-old’s emergence dings the value of Francisco Mejia (thumb), who held a miserable .331 OPS prior to placement on the IL. With uncertain playing time, Campusano is reserved for dynasty and DFS formats.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
