Luis Castillo Allows Three Runs Sunday
7 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Luis Castillo turned in another so-so performance on Sunday, allowing the St. Louis Cardinals to score three runs in five innings of work. Castillo allowed seven hits and walked four while registering just three strikeouts. It has been a disappointing start to the season for Castillo, who exploded on the scene during the 2017 season. On the year, Castillo has a 1-3 record, 6.51 ERA and a 24:11 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Most concerning is the fact that Castillo's strikeout rate is down and his walk rate is up from what he produced during his rookie year. Castillo has excellent stuff, so it would be wise to remain patient with him, but he is going to need to start showing something for his fantasy owners.
