3 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo (shoulder) was shut down for a day due to right shoulder soreness and may not be ready for the start of the season, according to manager David Bell. The right-hander has advanced to long toss and is moving in the right direction, but he may not have enough time due to the shortened spring training this year. As long as the 29-year-old doesn't suffer any setbacks from here on out, though, he may wind up missing a few starts to open the 2022 season. When healthy, Castillo is a solid SP3 for fantasy managers, and he may come at a discount this year because of his shoulder issues. In a league-high 31 starts in 2021, he had a 3.98 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with a 23.9% strikeout rate over 187 2/3 innings pitched.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
