Luis Castillo Picks Up Second Win On Friday
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Luis Castillo allowed just one run over six innings in a 6-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday. Castillo struck out five, walked one, and allowed just three hits in the win. It was an excellent outing for Castillo, whose only mistake was a fifth-inning homer to Edmundo Sosa. Castillo needed a start like this as he has not been very effective on the mound in 2021, posting a 2-8 record, 6.63 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, and 53 strikeouts in 58 1/3 innings of work. Friday's start marked just the second time in 12 outings that Castillo notched a quality start. He will look to keep it going in his next start, which comes against the Milwaukee Brewers.
