7 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo took a small step forward in delivering a solid start but ended up with another loss on Saturday in a 6-2 game against the Pirates. Castillo gave up three runs on six hits (including two solo home runs) and two walks with just two strikeouts in five innings. This was the 25-year-old's first start in his last four in which he gave up less than four runs, but his fifth straight start allowing at least one HR. Castillo now has a 4-8 record with a 5.77 ERA and a whopping 17 HR allowed in 78 IP. One stat of hope for fantasy owners is Castillo's fourth-highest swinging strike rate (14.6%) in baseball. Hopefully, he can continue to get the strikeouts without the HR going forward.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
