Luis Castillo Roughed Up On Opening Day
4 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Luis Castillo did not fare well in his Opening Day start against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. Castillo allowed 10 runs (eight earned) over 3 1/3 innings of work while walking two. He did not log a single strikeout in the 11-6 loss. Castillo was done in by a six-run first inning which was punctuated by a three-run homer by Dylan Carlson. The Cincinnati ace got off to a late start this spring thanks to travel issues, which, along with the cold temperatures on Opening Day, may have affected his performance. He will look to bounce back in a plus matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates the next time he takes the mound.
