Luis Castillo Strikes Out Five In Final Start Of 2021
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Luis Castillo allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings of work in a 9-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday. Castillo struck out five and walked three while giving up six hits in his final start of the 2021 season. The veteran hurler finishes his 2021 campaign with an 8-16 record, 3.98 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 192 strikeouts over 187 2/3 innings of work. Castillo got off to a rough start this season as he had a 7.22 ERA after the month of May. He calmed down after that, looking more like the fantasy stud that gamers had become accustomed to seeing over the past several seasons. Castillo is eligible for arbitration this offseason and can't become a free-agent until after the 2023 season.
