Luis Castillo Throws Bullpen Session
3 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo (shoulder) threw a bullpen session on Saturday and is scheduled to play catch during Monday's off day. The right-hander is expected to work off a mound again on Wednesday. Castillo is on the injured list to begin the season with right shoulder soreness, but barring any setbacks, he could make his season debut later this month for the Reds. The 29-year-old, along with Mike Minor, who is also dealing with shoulder issues, could bump both pitching prospects Hunter Greene and Nick Lodolo back to the minors when they return. Castillo led the league in losses (16) and walks (75) last year, but he had a 3.98 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 192 K's in 187 2/3 innings over 33 starts.
