Luis Castillo To Make Two More Rehab Starts
3 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo (shoulder) is scheduled to make two more minor league rehab starts before rejoining the Reds, according to manager David Bell. Castillo threw 48 pitches over 2 1/3 innings in a rehab start for High-A Dayton on Sunday, allowing one earned run and two hits while walking three and striking out four. The Reds want to see the 29-year-old increase his pitch count while being more effective before they let him make his big-league season debut in Cincinnati. Expect Castillo to make his next rehab starts at higher levels of the minor leagues. The right-hander has been on the injured list early on due to right shoulder soreness, but he still has plenty of fantasy upside when healthy, albeit for a bad Reds team.
