Luis Castillo Wins Fifth Game
6 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Luis Castillo picked up his fifth win of the season in a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Thursday. Castillo had his start cut short by a one-hour rain delay and wound up pitching just 5 1/3 innings. After the rain delay, reliever Michael Lorenzen replaced Castillo on the mound. The young fireballer allowed two runs in the start and struck out six batters before the rain began. Castillo has taken a huge step forward this season, posting a 5-1 record, 1.90 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 76 strikeouts in 61 2/3 innings of work. He is lined up to face off against the Milwaukee Brewers in his next start.
