4 years agoLos Angeles Angels second baseman Luis Rengifo will be sent out to the club’s alternate training site prior to Friday’s contest against the Mariners. The 2020 season has proven difficult for Rengifo, as he has opened the year with a .157/.283/.235 slash line in 18 games. Having been nearly dealt to the Dodgers this past offseason, Rengifo’s second base at-bats will likely be allocated to Tommy La Stella, who should take over full-time at the keystone. Still just 23 years old, Rengifo will likely be back with the Angels at some point, but for now, he can be safely removed from all season-long rosters.--Jesse Borek
