3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (shoulder, groin) could begin a rehab assignment after this weekend, per ESPN's Marly Rivera. Severino is slated to throw another live bullpen session on Saturday- and could then move on to game action if the session goes well. The 27-year-old righty has had an up-and-down rehab, as he was nearing a return to the big leagues before sustaining a groin injury that delayed his rehab from Tommy John surgery an extra month. Severino appears likely to be a contributor for the Yankees by early August at this rate, which could make him a valuable member of fantasy rosters down the stretch. He registered strikeout rates above 28 percent and groundball rates above 40 while posting sub-3.50 ERAs across 190 innings in each of his last full seasons in the Bronx.--Tim Capurso
