Luis Severino Expected Back This Summer
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (elbow) is expected back between June and August. Severino is recovering from Tommy John surgery and hasn't thrown a pitch in the majors since appearing in three games in 2019. Severino owns a career 3.46 ERA in five seasons and is still just 25 years of age. Outside of Gerrit Cole, the Yankees starting pitchers have really struggled on the mound and Severino should be able to earn his rotation spot back upon his return. With such a lengthy timeframe, it's hard to recommend Severino as a hold in redraft leagues, but those with open injured list spots should consider stashing him.
