Luis Severino Moved To 60-Day Injured List
2 years agoNew York Yankees right-hander Luis Severino (lat) was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Monday. Severino was shut down about two weeks ago with a right lat strain and will now not be eligible to return to the roster until mid-September. The 28-year-old hurler has made 16 starts for the Yankees in 2022, posting a 5-3 record, 3.45 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 95 strikeouts over 86 innings of work. Severino threw from flat ground earlier in the day on Monday and the session reportedly went well, at least according to manager Aaron Boone. It is unclear whether he suffered a setback during the session or if the Yankees just want to take it slow with Severino, who had Tommy John surgery back in 2020.
