Luis Severino Set For Rehab Assignment
2 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (lat) threw a live batting practice session on Sunday at Yankee Stadium, and his next outing will be a minor league rehab start, likely on Friday, Sept. 2. General manager Brian Cashman said that the plan is for Severino to make five regular season starts in September leading into the playoffs. The 28-year-old cut his outing short in the third inning after just two pitches on July 13, saying that he was unable to get loose. Severino is worth stashing in fantasy leagues as long as he hits his timetable for a return next month. In his 16 starts this year, the Dominican right-hander has gone 5-3 with a 3.45 ERA (4.04 FIP), a 1.07 WHIP and a 95:25 K:BB in 86 innings pitched.
