Luis Severino Throws Successful Bullpen Session

5 years agoBack on a mound for the first time in five months, Yankees ace Luis Severino threw a 23-pitch bullpen session on Friday afternoon, throwing mostly fastballs and changeups as well as mixing in two sliders. Severino left the session claiming that he felt strong and will likely throw another bullpen on Monday while working in the 35-pitch range. Factoring in another bullpen or two beside Mondays, Severino could be in line to start a rehab assignment in the next 1-2 weeks. While good news, his ability to impact fantasy lineups in 2019 could be ended by any sort of setback at this point, so Severino's owners will continue to hold their breath after every step he progresses.--Nicklaus Gaut - RotoBaller
