Luis Urias Smacks First Career Homer
6 years agoSan Diego Padres second baseman Luis Urias hit his first big league homer in Friday’s victory against the Colorado Rockies. Urias provided some insurance for the Friars, taking reliever Jake McGee deep in the eighth inning. The touted prospect has not looked overmatched in his initial cup of coffee, with four hits in his first 15 at-bats (.267 average) with two extra-base hits and one strikeout. With only 17 dingers across his five seasons in the minors, Urias is not known for long balls but developing a power stroke would be a welcome trait for Padres and fantasy owners alike. He should make a fine middle infield option in all leagues the rest of the way.
