3 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman/designated hitter Luke Voit (biceps) will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday. Barring any setbacks, Voit might be able to rejoin the Padres later this week. Before his injury, the former New York Yankee was the team's primary DH, so fantasy managers should expect him to return to that role when he comes off the injured list. Voit packs plenty of power in his right-handed bat, but he was off to a slow start in his first 13 games for the Friars, going 6-for-42 with no home runs, five RBI and 17 strikeouts. The Padres have been rotating names like Luis Campusano, Manny Machado, Jurickson Profar, Eric Hosmer and Matt Beaty at DH in the past week with Voit sidelined.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
