3 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit (oblique) could begin his rehab assignment on June 15, per manager Aaron Boone. Voit hasn't played since May 25 with a Grade 2 oblique strain, though he has been able to run and take swings, perhaps progressing quicker than what was initially expected of him. It's worth noting that Voit might require a more lengthy slate of rehab games, considering he has already been sidelined once this season and considering the nature of oblique injuries. DJ LeMahieu and Chris Gittens should continue to hold down the fort at first until Voit returns.--Tim Capurso
