Luke Voit Has No Timetable Post Knee Surgery
4 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit underwent surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus in his left knee on Monday. He told reporters on Wednesday that there's "no timetable" for his return but that he "expects to be back pretty soon." Players are often overly optimistic about their injury recovery times but he's expected to be out until early-May or so. Jay Bruce should fill in at first base in Voit's absence and is a decent power option in deeper fantasy leagues. The team should provide periodic updates on Voit as he progresses through his rehab. Fantasy managers who were unlucky enough to draft Voit before his injury should have a backup option at first base in place for at least the first month of the season.
