5 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit (core) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with sports hernia. It's unclear whether the 28-year-old will require surgery, but it's that's the case he is expected to miss a minimum of six weeks. The team has recalled pitcher Jonathan Holder and infielder Breyvic Valera. Voit was producing a breakout season with totals of 19 home runs, 54 RBI, 60 runs, and a .278 batting average through 94 games in 2019.
